Our Equine Assisted Learning programs are designed to support the needs of our individual students. We work to meet each individual where they are and help them make growth towards their goals.
|
What is Equine Assisted Learning?
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is experiential educational activities guided by our team, which includes an Educator/Equine Specialist, a certified Mental Health Provider and our equine partners. EAL promotes personal growth, social emotional awareness and development, and/or academic and functional life skills through equine interactions involving groundwork and education.
|
Why Equines?Due to equines being highly sensitive, clients can work through the skills they need to grow by interacting with the equines without feeling judgment by another person. This allows our clients a space to be their authentic self. Equines also allow for movement in learning for our students. |
Equines Can Read UsEquines are intelligent prey animals! To evade predators equines are extremely sensitive to their environment Their instincts are to analyze and react to to one's body language and other nonverbal cues. That can give very good insight into what the student is experiencing emotionally during a session. |
Part of the HerdEquines are large and powerful and by learning how to approach them helps individuals to reflect on how they approach their relationships and other big things in their life such as learning and challenges. Equines are a lot like us... they are social animals and have defined roles in their herd, allowing students to identify and form connections with them. They have distinct personalities, attitudes and moods. *https://pathintl.org/ & https://www.eagala.org |
