Community OutReach Program Events

One of our goals is to be able to bring our equines out to the community to experience our learning activities as well as visit with our equines. These events are made possible by generous donations from our supporters.  This allows us to provide these opportunities at no cost to the community. Check out our pictures below from some of our recent events and check out our calendar for upcoming events.

Upcoming Events:

Family Mindful Movement & Equine Experience

Experience the magic of connection at our family-focused event combining mindful movement and horse interactions. This special gathering welcomes parents, children, and extended family members to share meaningful moments together.
Families will:
  • Bond through shared experiences with our gentle horses
  • Learn age-appropriate mindfulness practices that the whole family can enjoy
  • Strengthen family connections in a supportive community setting
  • Develop greater awareness of themselves and each other
Our guided activities create space for authentic family connection, while the presence of our equine teachers helps everyone—from the youngest child to grandparents—slow down and be present together.
This is more than just an event—it's an opportunity for families to create lasting memories and discover new ways of understanding and appreciating each other, all within the peaceful setting of our horse farm.

Reading with Roury at C. Burr Artz Library
We were so excited for our Reading with Roury event with C. Burr Artz Library, rain wasn't going to keep us away.  We had 144 people come through the doors of the community room to learn more about Hearts of the Herd, participate in our Horse Powered Reading® & Learning activity stations and to get a chance to meet Roury.  Visitors participated in 7 different learning stations including our SEL station on the importance in the Power of the Pause with a horse breathing activity; What's the Scoop, which was our math station; a creative writing station where the children could create their own journal about their experience or write their own story to share with Roury; Word Herd which is a word family game;  Alphabet horse parts, where students explore the parts of the horse using the alphabet. We also had a craft station where each participant was able to create their very own horse book mark.  The final station and probably the most popular was visiting with Roury.  We had so much fun and can't wait until our next library visit.  Follow our Facebook and Instagram page to find out where we will be next.

Reading with Roury at Sophie & Madigan's Playground
We had such a great time at Sophie & Madigan's Playground on November 5th.  We were able to visit with over 60 children and their families on a beautiful Sunday morning.  We started the visit with a read aloud about Ricky joining our herd.  Visitors were then invited to participate in 7 different learning stations including our SEL station on the importance in the Power of the Pause with a horse breathing activity; What's the Scoop, which was our math station; a creative writing station where the children could create their own journal about their experience or write their own story to share with Roury; Word Herd which is a word family game;  Alphabet horse parts, where students explore the parts of the horse using the alphabet. We also had a craft station where each participant was able to create their very own horse book mark.  The final and most popular station was our visits with Roury.  The children could choose to just brush Roury, read with her or tell her a story.  There were many smiles and joy throughout all of the activities.
Please contact us today if you are interested in us bringing this program to you.
These learning stations are all based off of the Horse Powered Reading Program and Reins of Rhythm.  To learn more visit...  https://www.horsepoweredreading.com/
